Our Community Council includes a group of pupils committed to building strong links between the school and the wider local community. Their role involves organising events and initiatives that promote kindness, generosity, and mutual support, fostering a sense of belonging and social responsibility within Otterbourne and beyond.

Autumn 2 2024 - Christmas Decoration Swap

This Christmas, we took part in a Christmas decoration swap with Bright Horizons nursery, James Place Adult Daycare and Otterbourne Hill residential home. Every child in the school, from Year R to Year 6, created a decoration and we delivered them to the different locations. We enjoyed a festive story in Bright Horizons, squash and biscuits in James Place and a lovely chat with some of the residents at Otterbourne Hill.

We enjoyed this so much, we invited some of our new friends to attend the Year R nativity and our Candlelit Carols services in the church later in December, which they thoroughly enjoyed!

Autumn 1 2024 - Rotary Shoebox Appeal

Thank you so much for supporting our community council with the Rotary Shoe Box Appeal this half term. We were able to collect 100s of donations from families in our school community and filled a huge 26 boxes to the brim with an amazing array of toys, books, toiletries, pens, pencils and much more!

These shoeboxes will be delivered in time for Christmas to displaced children to make their lives a little brighter in the holidays. Thank you so much!
